Clichéd and hackneyed lyrics, but there’s no denying the fierceness and energy of the performances.
From the article:
“He [Nobel Peace Prize committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland] noted that [Tawakkul] Karman, 32, is a member of a political party linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist movement sometimes viewed with suspicion in the West. Jagland, however, called the Brotherhood "an important part" of the Arab Spring.”
I find that troublesome, as I regard the Muslim Brotherhood to be an Islamic supremacist organization. That’s why I have skepticism about the so-called Arab Spring: one type of authoritarianism will be replaced with religious authoritarianism.
